Reach out to help others
With food prices rising weekly and families struggling more and more to stretch dollars, the Blessing Boxes in West Ashley are being used more than ever. Sadly, the rising cost of food has also slowed donations. Outreach chair Ingrad Flad-Gooding made an appeal to the congregation on January 29th to remember the blessing box next to John Wesley UMC on Moore Street as well as the many others scattered around the community.
John Wesley UMC is part of the Lowcountry Blessing Box Project. If you can drop off some non-perishable food at the box beside the church or any other of the 2o other Blessing Boxes in West Ashley, you’ll help feed a hungry person. In addition to the West Ashley location, the boxes are located on James Island, John’s Island and North Charleston.
