Buy a pumpkin. Support Youth Missions and Hurricane Relief.

,

You know it’s fall when you see the pumpkins on the lawn of John Wesley UMC. The 2024 Pumpkin Patch is now open. Sales on the front lawn of the church will run through the month of October.

The Pumpkin Patch is open 7 days a week.

  • 10 AM – 7 PM – Monday – Saturday
  • Noon – 7 pm – Sunday

Groups are welcome. And feel free to take pictures of your children among the pumpkins for a family keepsake.

List of Youth Mission ProjectsThe annual fundraiser usually goes toward Youth Mission projects but this year the youth voted to allocate a portion of the profits to hurricane relief in the Upstate and western North Carolina. Youth Minister David Boudolf says youth mission projects include local outreach such as Star Gospel Mission and Homeworks. Funds also support youth trips to Salkehatchie to help families restore homes, a trip to the Tampa area to provide assistance and ministry to the homeless and an international trip to Eleuthera to help with hurricane recovery.

On Saturday October 19th, the United Women in Faith Fall Festival of crafts, arts, goodies and gently used attic treasures will be set up in the church parking lot beside the Pumpkin Patch.  Proceeds from that festival will go to local charities.

John Wesley UMC is one of four Methodist churches in the area to work with Pumpkin Patch USA to raise money for outreach. The North Carolina based initiative partners with growers in Farmington, New Mexico from the Navajo Nation. The pumpkin patch there employs more than 700 Native Americans during the harvest season.
