CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE EVERYWHERE
Outreach connects with people and needs beyond the JWUMC congregation, either in JWUMC-sponsored ministries or those community-based ministries that JW members serve.
John Wesley is very active in local, state, national, and international missions with youth and adult participation.
HALOS
Advocates for abused and neglected children and JW partners to assist with annual uniform and school supply drive; summer camp; and Christmas wishes via the Angel Tree project.
KAIROS MINISTRY
Prison ministry team members serve to plant the seed of Christ to those incarcerated. Twice a year, cookies are baked and delivered.
MITTEN TREE
Annually, a Christmas tree collecting "ornaments" (hats, socks, mittens) is decorated by members in support of Crisis Ministries project for those in need.
PRAYER QUILT MINISTRY
Members of JW may request a quilt for any person in physical, emotional, or spiritual crisis. A quilt is made by ministry volunteers and placed in the chapel. Members tie a knot in the quilt offering a silent prayer for the individual. The delivered quilt symbolically "covers the recipient in prayers."
SEEDS OF HOPE
JW provides space and volunteers to support local small farmers' markets in summer and early fall, Saturday 9:00AM-12:00 noon.
AND MORE!
Many additional volunteer opportunities are available with Star Gospel Mission, Stop Hunger Now, James Island Outreach/Tri County Family Ministries, Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic as well as participation in walk/run events to assist many organizations in fund raising.
