The pumpkins are here.
A huge truck delivered the first load of pumpkins on September 29 and they are now spread out over the front lawn facing Savannah Highway. Another load is scheduled to be dropped off on October 13th.
The pumpkin sales go daily from 10 am till 8 pm weekdays, from 9 am till 8 pm on Saturdays, and from noon till 8 pm on Sundays. Volunteers are needed to assist buyers and help manage the sales. Members and youth can sign up to handle sales in two-hour increments using this form on Signup Genius.
Youth Minister David Boudolf, who is in charge of the pumpkin sales, says that the funds raised will help youth have the opportunity to go on mission trips. The proceeds of the sales defray some of the trip costs for youth and their families. The next international trip for Summer 2020 is tentatively set for the Bahamas to give assistance to areas devastated by Hurricane Dorian. Youth also go on mission trips each summer to Salkehatchie, a South Carolina UMC program devoted to serving underprivileged families while helping young people learn about themselves, the world and God.
